Nails
i am one of the few chicks in Las Vegas that doesn't keep long fake fingernails. all the girls here do it. even the fat old ones.
the reason i do not is that i have tried it and of course i loved them when they are freshly done. but some places that you go to don't sterlize their equipment or wash their hands between customers and it just grossed me out. thinking of what bacteria...............also. some of those places will really take the grinder to your natural nail bed so that you have no choice but to keep coming back to have them done.
here is what i do. i put a clear gloss on my natural nails. then i put any color i want on top. i use a lot of reds and this clear gloss keeps the reds from staining my nails. (especially the toes)
i haven't found any product yet that will allow my nails to grow. i have tried them all and they don't work for me. so they are short. my best friend can grow hers naturally long and it always looks like she has a french manicure because she doesn't paint them. i am so envious.
MY TOES---i don't let any manicurist touch my feet. they don't know what hurts me and i prefer to do it myself. when i give myself a pedicure i take off the old polish first then soak my feet in hot soapy water, for about 15 minutes to a half hour. (while i watch tv)sometimes i have to use a ped egg or buffing stone to get rid of some old skin on my feet and toes. to do the toe nails i then take them out and dry them a bit and cut the toe nails. i sometimes have an ingrown toenail so i have a special file that i ordered through a catalog to take care of this. i don't try to cut or dig it out. the special file works; it came with directions. after that i push the cuticles down a bit and put on the clear gloss. then i polish with red.
